Interview with 3 Time Fighting Game World Champion Perfect Legend

Jemmillion: What age did you start playing video games?

Perfect Legend: I was 3-years-old. My first game ever was Tetris.

Jemmillion: When and what inspired you to begin competing in tournaments?

Perfect Legend: I’ve always loved fighting games, and when I found out about MK Deception and DOA2U having online play, it opened me up to a new world and more players. Me not having anyone to play besides some friends who played back then was boring ‘cause only another and me would try to take the game to the next level. Playing online, I was introduced to a website called DOA Central, Shoryuken.com, and the Evolution Championship Series. After seeing all the EVO trailers, I wanted to someday be a player good enough to get highlighted in their DVD trailers. That was my main inspiration.

Jemmillion: Your current sponsor is Macro Micro Gaming (MMG). How did they approach you?

Apologyman: A friend of mine knew them personally and put in a good word for me. They approached me last year at San Francisco tournament and gave me information about them.

Jemmillion: This was the 3rd EVO that you competed in. How has this year’s experience differed from the previous years?

Apologyman: Evo becomes more and more enjoyable just through all the new people I meet every year. This year was by far the best for me due to all the new friends I made as well as placing the best I ever have at Evo.
